3月26日（火）、新香水「PARFUMS PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE（パルファム プリーツプリーズ イッセイミヤケ）」の記者発表会が、ロンドンのイッセイミヤケショップで行われました。写真家ニック・ナイトによるプロモーション映像、LED照明によりライトアップされた多面体のガラスボトル、色とりどりのプリーツプリーズが披露されました。調香師オーレリアン・ギシャールによるフレグランスの説明とともに、会場内は、フローラル、ウッディな“歓びの香り”で包み込まれました。
○ 7月29日より、イギリス国内発売予定。

March 26 (Tues), a press announcement for the new fragrance, “PARFUMS PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE” was held at the Issey Miyake Boutique on London’s Conduit Street.The event featured promotional footage by photographer Nick Knight, polyhedral glass bottles illuminated by LED, flower installations and PLEATS PLEASE of various hues. The announcement was also attended by perfumer Aurelien Guichard who enveloped the hall in a veil of “joyous scents” accentuated by floral and woody scents.
The new fragrance will go on sale from July 11th at House of Fraser and the ISSEY MIYAKE SHOP before its official UK release on July 29th.

ニューヨーク近代美術館（MoMA）の建築・デザイン部門の選定委員会が、照明器具「陰翳 IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE」の「MOGURA」「MOGURA mini」「MENDORI」の３機種を同美術館のコレクションに選定しました。また、同美術館の建築・デザイン部門は、衣服「132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE」の「No. 1 ワンピースドレス」をスタディ・コレクションに選定しました。

The Acquisitions department for the Committee for the Department of Architecture and Design of the Museum of Modern Art in New York has agreed to include the 3 models of the lighting products IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE (MOGURA, MOGURA mini, and MENDORI) into the Collection. At the same time, the Department of Architecture and Design has agreed to include the No. 1 one-piece dress of 132 5. ISSEY MIYAKE into its Study Collection. The MENDORI light is exhibited in the current exhibition of MoMA entitled Applied Design: From Chairs to Videogames, New Acquisitons in the Design Collection.

2012年秋にドイツ・タッシェンから刊行された書籍『PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE』に、各方面から高い評価が寄せられています。この本は、革新的な服づくりを行なっている三宅一生が1993年に発表した《PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE》のこれまでの歩みをまとめたものです。誕生のきっかけとなった1980年代後半の三宅のプリーツの仕事から今日までの約20年を振り返りながら、この服の持つ普遍性、革新性、そしてその魅力について、17人の執筆者による書き下ろし原稿及び約400点の画像で紹介しています。

The book entitled PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE which was published by TASCHEN in the autumn 2012 has been well received all over the world. The book reflects on the approximately 20 years of history from Miyake’s work on pleating in the latter half of the 1980’s, which culminated in the launch of the brand, to today, while introducing newly written articles by 17 people on the universality, innovativeness, and appeal of the clothes and also includes about 400 images.

IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE is selected to be part of the permanent collection of the Design Museum in London, and is exhibited in its current exhibition. The exhibition is entitled EXTRAORDINARY STORIES ABOUT ORDINARY THINGS, and runs until January 4th, 2015. It investigates the impact of design on our everyday lives from six key stories, and presents the designs from furniture, product, fashion, transport and architecture. The IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE lamp’s TATSUNO-OTOSHIGO model that uses the recycled PET as the material of the shade is exhibited to illustrate the most recent use of plastic.

陰翳 IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKE が、ロンドン・デザインミュージアムのパーマネントコレクションに選定され、同ミュージアムで開催中の展覧会「EXTRAORDINARY STORIES ABOUT ORDINARY THINGS」展で紹介されています。2015年1月4日まで開催される同展では、日常生活にデザインがもたらす強い影響力について６つの視点から考察し、家具、プロダクト、ファッション、トランスポート、建築のジャンルから選んだデザインが展示されています。再生PET を用いた陰翳 IN-EI ISSEY MIYAKEは、贅沢品から日常のプロダクトまで広範囲のデザインに使われて来た素材である「プラスチック（合成樹脂）」の部門で、最新プロダクトの例として、ペンダント式ライトの「TATSUNO-OTOSHIGO」が展示されています。

To celebrate the release of Issey Miyake’s new perfume PARFUMS PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE in Japan, a dance performance was held at the Atrium on the B1 floor of the Galleria at Tokyo Midtown on January 30, 2013. The performance was produced by America’s famous dancer/choreographer Daniel Ezralow who has previously produced numerous ISSEY MIYAKE shows both in Japan and overseas. The unique dance performance was based on the theme “The joys of PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE”. Full of uplifting, dynamic energy, the performance mesmerized the large audience who gathered to watch.

To celebrate the debut of the new “W” watch series from ISSEY MIYAKE, a presentation was held on June 8th at the Audi Forum in Shibuya,Tokyo, by its designer Satoshi Wada, attended by invited press and guests. Wada has worked for the car manufacturer; Audi AG in Germany and has designed several popular models including the Audi A5 which is acclaimed as “ the world’s most beautiful coupe”. Wada gave a talk which included a live interview with the editor in chief of “ENGINE” magazine; Mr.Murakami, about the Design and development process of the new watch as well as his work on car design.

6月8日、ISSEY MIYAKE watchの新シリーズ「W（ダブリュー）」の発売を記念して、そのデザイナー和田智氏のトークイベントが東京／渋谷にあるアウディフォーラム東京にて開催されました。和田氏は「世界で最も美しいクーペ」と評される独アウディAG社でAudi A5をはじめ各人気モデルのカーデザインを手がけてきました。イベントでは「W」開発のプロセスや考え方、またその背景にあるカーデザインの発想など、雑誌「ENGINE」の村上編集長をナビゲーターに迎えてデザインに込めたその思いを語りました。

The most recent press presentation for PARFUMS PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE was held at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris on Monday June 4, 2012. The new fragrance exudes joy, a sense of colour, movement and modernity, and is inspired by its namesake PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE; both are comtemporary yet timeless.

Starting in 1995, there has been a limited edition Summer Fragrance each year. Behind one of the dunes in the middle of the desert, an oasis appears, like a cool blast. The inspiration for L’Eau d’Issey and L’Eau d’Issey pour L’Homme stems from that magical coolness that can be felt when the desert seems to be sleeping silently in peace. This special scent was created by the perfumer Jacques Cavallier. The bottle plays transparency against the bright green opacity of the leaves that adorn the glass.

1995年から毎年発表している限定サマーフレグランス。はてしなく続くいくつもの砂丘の向こうに、豊かな水と緑が現れます。静かで穏やかな平和に包まれた砂漠のオアシス。その清々しさやみずみずしさからインスピレーションを得ました。調香師ジャック・キャバリエが手がけた特別な香り、そしてボトルには、オアシスに生い茂るヤシの木からひらりと落ちて来たかのような美しいグリーンの葉で、ボトルを包み込みました。

2012年3月8日から15日まで、スイス・バーゼル市で開催された「BASEL WORLD 2012」にてISSEY MIYAKE WATCHの新作が発表されました。今回発表した新シリーズは、W（ダブリュー）」と名付けられ、アウディAG社で、多くのカーデザインを手がけてきた和田智氏が手がけたクロノグラフ・ウオッチです。自動車の計器類のような精度感あふれる文字盤や、アルミホイールをイメージさせる精悍なケースフォルムに、力強い竹のしなりをイメージしたサイドビューが魅力のシリーズです。

The new ISSEY MIYAKE WATCH unveiled at “BASEL WORLD 2012″ in the city of Basel, Switzerland, March 8th to 15th 2012. The new series, called “W” is a chronograph watch designed by Satoshi Wada, the renowned car designer for Audi AG. With an intelligent mechanical face resembling precision automotive gauges, a metal case which mirrors aluminum wheels and a strong side view curve inspired by bending bamboo; this watch is a true reflection of Wada’s design philosophy which marries a traditional Japan aesthetic with the latest technology.
Fragrance featuring sports “L’EAU D’ISSEY POUR HOMME SPORT” is now announced.

To evoke man’s relationship with nature. To feel the intensity and emotion of sports. This is the vision of this dynamic new men’s fragrance. The perfumer Jacques Cavallier has evoked the idea of “the deep breath of satisfaction that a mountain climber takes when he reaches the summit.” The bottle, by Italian designer Renato Montagner, is made from specially treated glass to create the reflective and transparent qualities of ski goggles; the grip-like cap evokes the high-tech materials used to ensure accuracy and control in sporting equipment.

人と自然。スポーツを通じて味わう大きな喜びと感動が、ダイナミックに表現されたメンズフレグランスです。調香師ジャック・キャバリエが手がけた香りは、頂上に登頂したアルピニストの満ち足りた「深呼吸」から着想されました。またボトルはイタリア人デザイナーのレナート・モンタニエにより、特殊ガラス加工によってスキー・ゴーグルを連想させる反射が美しいクリアなデザインが誕生。ロードバイクのグリップを想わせるキャップやブルーのラインはアクティブなスポーツギアをイメージさせます。
