“LE SEL D’ISSEY,” a Perfume Series Inspired by Salt (sel)

Thirty years have passed since the announcement of L’EAU D’ISSEY POUR HOMME, a fragrance created to evoke the scent of water. Today, ISSEY MIYAKE PARFUMS introduces a new fragrance series, inspired by designer Issey Miyake’s fascination with another essential natural element: salt.

Designer and artist Tokujin Yoshioka created the “LE SEL D’ISSEY” bottle. He expresses the theme of “salt” with the transparent glass form and the phenomenon of light that transcends form. Perfumer Quentin Bisch created the fragrance, and interprets the concept as a dialogue between sea and land, recalling the sensation from salt, which ordinarily has no smell, and using it as an animating factor for the fragrance.

On display are “LE SEL D’ISSEY Eau de Toilette” launched last fall and “LE SEL D’ISSEY Eau de Parfum” launched in September. The presentation room includes bottles, fragrances and a special video featuring interviews with perfumer Quentin Bisch, Tokujin Yoshioka and filmmaker Marcus Tomlinson. As you go through the installation, you will experience a dynamic world-view that unfolds from new fragrances.
