1975
  • Instrumental in bringing Inventive Clothes 1909-1939 exhibition of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, to National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto with the full cooperation of Mr. Koichi Tsukamoto. After its success, the Kyoto Costume Institute (KCI) was established in 1978.

  • Presented One Day One Show ISSEY MIYAKE, an exhibition at the Tokyo Designer's space, Tokyo.
1978
  • Participated in MA Espace - Temps du Japon, an exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs during the Festival d'Automne, Paris, and subsequently at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum, Smithsonian Institution, New York in 1979.
1979
  • Presented Les Tissus Imprimés d'Issey Miyake, an exhibition at the Musée de l’Impression sur Etoffes, France.
1980
  • Participated in The Japan Style, an exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
  • Participated in organizing Evolution of Fashion 1835 – 1895, an exhibition at The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto.
1982
  • Participated in Intimate Architecture: Contemporary Clothing Design, an exhibition at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.
1983
  • Presented ISSEY MIYAKE SPECTACLE: BODYWORKS, an exhibition at the Laforet Iikura Museum, Tokyo, the Otis/Parsons Gallery, Los Angeles, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and in 1985 at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

  • Participated in L'Or, la Laine et la Soie, Cotons et Plumes de paon. Les Textiles de l'Inde et les Modèles Créés par Issey Miyake, an exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris.

  • Organized Issey Miyake Meets Lucie Rie, an exhibition of Dame Lucie Rie at Sogetsu Gallery, Tokyo / Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka.

  • Participated in Energieën(Energies), an exhibition featuring Rhythm Pleats at the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.
  • Presented ISSEY MIYAKE PLEATS PLEASE, an exhibition at the Toko Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo.
  • Presented TEN SEN MEN, a commemorative exhibition of the Hiroshima Art Prize at the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art.

  • Presented ISSEY MIYAKE MAKING THINGS, an exhibition at the Fondation Cartier pour l' art contemporain Paris that later traveled to the Ace Gallery, New York in 1999 and to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo in 2000.
